BLS For HealthCare Providers

This course is for Healthcare Professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.  This course is often required by many hospitals or schools related to the medical field.  Individuals such as nursing students, EMT students, Doctors, First Responders and others will very likely be required to be certified in BLS before or during school sessions or in accordance with work regulations. This course is an educational program jointly sponsored by the American Heart Association (AHA).        

                              The BLS Course Covers:

  • Adult and pediatric CPR
  • Two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag-valve mask
  • Foreign-body airway obstruction (conscious and unconscious)
  • Automated external defibrillation (includes child AED update)
  • Special resuscitation situations
  • Other cardiopulmonary emergencies
  • Stroke and cardiac arrest 

Course Duration: 4-5 Hours

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs to know how to perform CPR or to obtain a certificate for CPR to meet job, regulatory or other requirements. This course is highly recommended for daycare workers, school teachers, security personnel, summer camps, work, babysitters, as well as construction workers. This course is NOT intended for Healthcare Providers or any personnel working or those whom may be working in the medical field in the future (i.e., nursing/medical students). This course is an educational program jointly sponsored by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI).

                              The Heartsaver/Basic CPR/AED course covers:

  1. CPR for adults, children, and infants(optional) 
  2. Usage of AED for adults, children, and infants
  3. Relief of choking for adults, children, and infant (optional)

Course Duration: 2-3 Hours

                              The Heartsaver/Basic First Aid course covers: 

-    First aid basics (including scene safety, finding the problem, and calling for help)
-    Medical emergencies (including actions for choking, breathing problems, and shock)

-    Environmental emergencies (including actions for bites, stings, temperature-related, and poison emergencies)

Audience: This course is designed for employees, management and facility personnel on how to recognize, manage and prepare for an active shooter event.This course is not written for law enforcement officers, but for non-law enforcement employees.
Overview: An active shooter is an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and other populated area. In most cases, active shooters use firearms and there is no pattern or method to their selection of victims. Active shooter situations are unpredictable and evolve quickly. All employees can help prevent and prepare for potential active shooter situations. This course provides guidance to individuals, including managers and employees, so that they can prepare to respond to an active shooter situation.

Audience: This course is designed for Tweens & Teens who are interested in learning how to safely care for children.

Pet First Aid & Pet CPR Training
 
Audience: This course is intended for anyone over the age of 11. This course will teach you the proper steps of taking care of our pets in the event of an emergency.
Overview: Each class will cover the care, treatment and handling techniques of injured dogs and cats. Instructors will teach you all the steps in Pet CPR, rescue breathing, bandaging, splinting and anything else needed to comfort your pet in the case of an emergency.
Certification: All students get a Pet First Aid and CPR certification card showing completion of the course as well as a Certificate of Completion.

Sexual Harassment in the Workplace
 
Audience: This course is intended for anyone in the workplace environment. Employees, Managers, Supervisors .
Overview: This course will cover the do's and don'ts in the workplace. Policy review, handouts and an exam will give your staff and your company piece of mind that your staff has received information on working in a safe environment.
 
Course Length: 1 1/2 hours

Restaurant Safety
 
Audience: This course is intended for anyone working in the food industry. Waiters, waitresses, hosts, chef's, etc.
Overview: Treating a choking victim is the main topic of this training. Students will also receive training in Adult Hands-only CPR.
